SI Exam

The Tamilnadu Uniformed Service Recruitment Board was constituted to select suitable personnel in various categories for the following departments:-

1	Police Department	a) Sub-Inspectors of Police (Men & Women) b) Grade II Police Constables (Men & Women) c) Sub Inspectors (Technical) (Men & Women)
2	Fire & Rescue Services	Firemen
3	Prison Department	Jail Warders (Men & Women)

Sub-Inspector:

• The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree obtained from Institution / University recognized by the University Grants Commission / Government in 10+2+3/4/5 pattern or 10+3+2 pattern in case of Diploma courses.
• However, candidates who have obtained a Bachelor’s degree through Open Universities without going through the 10+2+3 pattern will not be eligible.
• Candidates should have studied Tamil as a subject in X/XII/Degree. If not studied, candidates will have to pass the Tamil Part-II Test conducted by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission within 2 years of joining the service.

1. Written Examination ( Objective Type )

Total marks – 70        |     Duration – 2.30 hours       |         Minimum qualifying marks – 25

Part A – General Knowledge

Total No of Questions: 80     |      Total Marks: 40

Part B – Psychology

Total No of Questions: 60     |      Total Marks: 30

2. Physical measurement test (PMT)/Endurance test (ET)/Physical efficiency test (PET)

PMT and ET are qualifying nature.

PET has a Maximum of 15 marks.

3. Viva -Voce – 15 marks.

4. Special Marks-5 marks (for NCC/NSS/Sports).

Total = 100 marks
